Meal Plan Policies

All first-year students living in University Housing are bound by the mandatory minimum meal plan requirement through the end of the Summer 1 term. All upper-division students living in meal plan required University Housing must be enrolled in a mandatory minimum of a 7 Meal Plan. Students living in meal plan required housing are automatically enrolled and billed for a 17 Meal Plan and may upgrade or downgrade as permitted by their class year and housing assignment prior to the semester deadline. Any student living in meal plan required University Housing is required to have traditional meal plans regardless of student status or co-op status. All other full-time students are eligible to purchase a traditional or Profiler meal plan of their choosing.

  • All deadlines are non-negotiable. Every student must abide by the deadlines set forth by Northeastern University.
  • Changes to meal plans can be made through the Student Hub within the designated deadline dates. Adjustments and cancellations will be effective at the end of the current meal plan week on Saturday evening. Billing will be pro rated.
  • Students are always able to increase their meal plan throughout the semester.
  • Nonrefundable Profiler meal plans cannot be dropped or reduced once purchased.

Meal Plan Usage

  • You may only use your meal plan for yourself. Guest passes come with the meal plan but you may not give your card to a friend, roommate, family member, etc. to use your meal plan.
  • Meals not used at the end of each week will be lost. There is no refund or rollover for unused meals.
  • Traditional meal plans end each semester, no exceptions.
  • Dining locations strive to suit every student’s needs. All food allergies and special food requests should be disclosed to a Northeastern Dining Administrator prior to each term.
  • Medical concerns regarding dining and meal plan requirements must be registered through the Disability Resource Center for review. Religious concerns must be submitted to Husky Card and Dining Staff for review.
  • Upper-division students living in meal plan required housing must have a traditional meal plan. Profiler meal plans do not qualify for a meal plan in a meal plan required residence hall.
  • First-year students, including rising second-years during Summer 1 who live in University Housing are subject to minimum meal plan requirements.
  • A traditional meal plan week is considered Sunday morning breakfast through Saturday evening dinner.
  • Three meals per day may be used at Outtakes (10 points per meal).
  • Three meals per day may be used at the Market at 60 Belvidere ($14 value per meal).
  • Meal swipes may be used up to three times per meal period per day at each residential dining location.
